Longing Landscapes | 2007
Using an infrared filter at night and a tilt-shift lens at night, these digitally layered images investigate memory, place and the idea of home. At a certain point in life I left my childhood home, and I had not yet found my adult home. This series depicts that transition when I could not go back to the childhood home, nor had I found a new one. It is about the longing for a home to call one’s own, and how at certain times in life, there are either physical obstacles at play or too far a distance yet to travel.
